Destination For Music Lovers #3
Music Cafe 'C'est La Vie'
There are five courses of Modern Alley Tour developed in Daegu. C'est La Vie is a nice place to look around and is connected to the second course of modern cultural alley among the five. You can find it at the end of the stairs going down from the Chungna Hill to the direction of Gyesan Cathedral following the March 1st Independence Movement Road.
C'est La Vie is a music cafĂ© that is rarely seen these days. It is a place made as a filming location for the K-drama ‘Love Rain’ that was aired in the spring of 2012. C'est La Vie contained the emotion of innocent love in the 70s’ and the trendy love in 2012 at the same time. C'est La Vie appeared having the 70s’ as its background.
Once I entered the room, a full-length photograph of Jang Geun-seok and Yoona who were the main characters of the drama greeted me. There are not much customers. The most of customers are those fans from Japan and China. These people sit down on the spots where the main characters sat, take pictures and talk to each other.
The atmosphere inside is more or less rustic. It is a view with an orange payphone, and the chairs, tables and interior decoration are antiquated. Nonetheless, C'est La Vie has its own charm. It is not painful in the eyes for it is not magnificent. It is also not crowded since there are only a few customers. It is nice to go into deep thinking here because the place feels like you are in an old photo. It is also good that you do not have to move and think fast. And so, it is a nice place to recall memories.
